Apparently the Mediterranean has jellyfish

Today has been fun so far...though not without a dose of jellyfish venom.  After school, we went to the beach at Barcelonetta and I got stung by a jelly while swimming.  It felt kind of like an electric shock followed by an injection of lemon juice, but I think I'll live.  Either way, it was a beautiful beach day and we all soaked up some nice rays.

Going out to eat tapas tonight and tomorrow we go to Universitat Autonoma for the first time!

'Til next time, Ryan.

Hola al Mundo!

Hello out there and welcome to my blog! I'm from California - a proud UCSB student - and I decided to study in Barcelona, Spain to improve my Spanish and immerse myself in one of the most exciting cities in Europe.  Using this blog, I plan to share some of my adventures as I travel around Spain and the rest of Europe.  I will probably write a lot about food and drink - seeing that these were key motives for my European adventure - but I'll write about everything else too :)

So far, I've been here for about 10 days, and I'm finally starting to become accustomed to Barcelona and a wholly new daily routine (siesta + dinner after 9pm = confused Americans).  Very excited to move into an apartment in the Gracia district of Barcelona later this week...then, the adventure will begin. Stay tuned!

GRAFFITI: Barcelona has some cool street art, I was excited to find this cool tag around the corner from my new apartment!
